How we work
Understanding the “Project Behind The Project”
We think a lot of filmmakers working in the corporate market apply “off the shelf” solutions without truly understanding the client’s real needs.
Central to Deadline’s philosophy is the need to invest adequate time and energy in understanding the “Project Behind The Project”. While we take great pride in our output, we know a programme or script isn’t an end in itself but a means to further a client’s wider business needs. As such the wider context of any commission has to be clear - the more insight we have, the more it will enhance the end product. We believe in having as robust a development process as circumstances allow, so feel free to involve us early in your thinking - you’ll get an even better result
Flexibility of scale and approach
It’s not just a client’s needs that vary - timescales and budgets do too. Deadline can design and carry out projects from design to delivery, but wherever possible we can tailor a quality solution to particular circumstances (e.g. a tighter timescale). We do this by being flexible and open to different ways of working. Proposals are developed and each project priced individually after the initial briefing process
Being connected
We have links and partnerships with a variety of collaborators whose expertise we can call on when needed. These include film studios, recording studios, actors, voiceover artists, musicians, web designers, animators and cartoonists
Enjoying ourselves
Making a film is a complex business that needs to be got right. It can involve a lot of waiting around. Nonetheless, clients generally like to attend shooting and we like to enjoy ourselves on set. As a general rule, the more fun we’re having, the better the final result.
